Veneers

One of the quickest ways to improve the quality of your smile is through veneers. If your smile is suffering from any of the following dental imperfections, veneers can make a significant difference:

  • Cracks or chips.
  • Irregular shape.
  • Slight misalignments.
  • Severe discoloration or staining.
  • Excessive wear.
  • Significant gaps.

Benefits of Veneers

Like crowns and implants, veneers are made to resemble your natural teeth in color, shape, and luminescence. They are stain resistant, kind to your gums, and provide subtle improvements that won’t stand out abnormally from the rest of your teeth.

Preparing Your Veneer

After acquiring a model of your tooth with digital scanning, your veneer will usually take 2-3 weeks to construct in our lab. You may receive a temporary veneer to wear in the meantime. When your veneer is completed, we’ll check to make sure the size and color are all satisfactory before securing it to your tooth.

Veneers vs. Crowns

Crowns are similar to veneers in that they are a covering for your damaged tooth. But crowns cover your entire tooth—front, back, and sides. Veneers, on the other hand, are wafer-thin composites of porcelain or resin that are only bonded to the front face of your tooth.

Both veneers and crowns are permanent if properly maintained, lasting up to 15 years. Dr. Alatorre and our expert staff will help you decide which restorative option is right for you.
